Probleme mit Datenbankverbindung!

Ich wollte dieses Forum für meine Hp benutzen,
jedoch komme ich bei der Instalation niht weiter.
MySQL Server vorhanden.
Info:
Verbunden mit MySQL 4.1.14-nt auf localhost als root@localhost
Nun bekomme ich jedesmal folgende Fehlermeldung.

es sieht so aus als hättest du den Datenbankamen; usernamen und Passwort vergessen

Da es ja alles nur auf dem Laptop ist habe ich nicht viel zu verheimlichen.
Database Configuration
Database Server Hostname / DSN: localhost
Your Database Name: buch
Database Username: root
Database Password:
Prefix for tables in database: phpbb_
Installiert ist xampp falls das jemand kennt.

If you are installing it on your own computer then "localhost" is what you need to write for mySql. Make sure that mySQL server is installed on your computer as well and is launched and works properly

Die Datenbank funktioniert da sie für einen anderen Datenbankteil auf der HP auch geht.
Localhost ist auch eingetragen.

hmm, ist die config.php während der intallation auf 777 ge'CHMOD'et worden bzw. jetzt auf 644 ?!
