PHP Warning preg_replace Compilation failed

Hallo,
wenn ich Änderungen im Profil eines Users vornehme und diese Änderung abspeichere, erhalte ich folgende Fehlermeldungen:
[phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/blog/includes/functions.php on line 390: preg_replace(): Compilation failed: invalid range in character class at offset 32
Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/www/phpBB3/includes/functions.php:3896) in /home/www/phpBB3/adm/index.php on line 150
Was bedeutet das und wie behebe ich den Fehler, der zur Warnung führt?
