Problem behoben.
Nach längerer Suche habe ich die nginx.sample.conf im docs Verzeichnis entdeckt und daraus das benötigte abgeleitet.

Ich habe ein phpBB3 in Betrieb mit dem phpBB3portal 2.1.0.
Dieses läuft aktuell auf einem Apache2 mit PHP5.6.24, neu soll es ein Webserver mit nginx (für das phpBB3.1.x wird noch PHP 5.6.26 verwendet, Betrieb mit anderen PHP-Versionen jederzeit möglich da php-fpm) werden.
