Großes Problem mit Avatar Upload

Jedesmal wenn ich einen Avatar hochladen will erhalte ich folgende Meldungen:

Was kann das nun schon wieder sein?
Ich habe ein ganz frisches phpBB2 (aus dem Downloadbereich ---> entpackt ---> hochgeladen ---> installiert)

die berechtigungen fehlen -> images/avatars auf chmod 777
