Installationsproblem - nur Quelltext, keine Formulare

Ich hab XAMPP auf meinem Rechner laufen, was auch funktioniert, und wollte nun phpBB (neueste Version) installieren. In der Anleitung steht, man solle die install.php aufrufen, dies habe ich auch getan, ich sehe jedoch nur das phpBB-Logo und dann Quelltext, wo zwischendurch ein paar Felder stehen. Ich kann somit keine Felder ausfüllen, wie es wohl theoretisch sein müßte.

Ich benutze Firefox 1.5.0.3. Wollte die Datei mit dem IE öffnen, allerdings macht er dann gar nichts.

Vielleicht kann ja jetzt jemand helfen. Ist ein wenig schlecht zu erkennen, aber es ist nur Quelltext dargestellt, so geht es die gesamte Seite.

Oh, verschrieben, habe aber die install.php geöffnet.
Der Server ist mein eigener Rechner mit XAMPP.
Ich möchte erstmal nur ein lokales Forum zum herumprobieren installieren, doch eben schon bei dieser Sache hapert es.

XAMPP funktioniert doch einwandfrei!

Das Problem besteht doch darin, daß ich anstatt der Eingabefelder nur Kauderwelsch habe! Mit anderen Worten, ich kann in diesen Installationsdialog nichts eintragen, da ich nicht weiß wo ich was eintragen könnte: „Default board language“ beispielweise gibt es überhaupt gar nicht! Ich habe also keine Felder bei denen ich gezielt die entsprechenden Daten eintragen könnte.

Gemäß deiner Anleitung komme ich ab dem Punkt „ Datenbank-Daten (Hoster kontaktieren, wenn unschlüssig) in die Eingabefelder eingeben und sql-System auswählen (MySQL3 oder 4 oder...) ==> und abschicken“ nicht weiter, da ich nichts irgendwo schlüssig eingeben kann.

noch einmal zum mitmeißeln :

Wenn der XAMPP ordnungsgemäß funktioniert (also mit gestartetem Apache und MySQL) würde er die install.php als solche erkennen und abarbeiten. Da er das nicht macht liegt ein Fehler vor, welcher sicherlich nicht zeitnah nicht in diesem Support Board für phpBB geklärt werden kann !
